The Lunar Nodes Shift into Aries & Libra
Fortune favors the bold…
On July 17th, 2023, The Lunar Nodes will be leaving the signs of Taurus and Scorpio, where they have been traveling for the last eighteen months, and will enter the signs of Aries and Libra. I know what you're thinking: "Come on, Caroline, what the heck are 'Nodes' and how does this effect me personally?" Don't worry, I've got you boo.
The Lunar Nodes are two points in the sky at which the Moon orbits the ecliptic. In Astrology, the Lunar Nodes are divided into the South Node, (our past, our karma, skills and gifts acquired, as well as where we tend to get stuck) and the North Node (our future growth and evolution, skills we are cultivating). We each have the Lunar Nodes in two opposite signs in our birth chart, and these reveal our karma, hint at our past lives, as well as our current life's purpose in broad spiritual terms. The Lunar Nodes also move by transit, changing signs every 18 months. This eighteen month shift delineates where we, as individuals, will be learning and growing in everyday life. The two zodiac signs of the North and South Node also show what we, as a human race, will be learning and how we will be challenged, with the ultimate goal always being the evolution of consciousness on our tiny little planet, as well as throughout the cosmos.
The last 18 months we have been navigating the land and seas of Taurus and Scorpio territory. We've been focusing on our financial security and money story (Taurus), and we've had to face our mental health challenges and fears surrounding vulnerability and mortality (Scorpio). If we've done the work, integrated our lessons, and grown as a result, the months and years ahead will bear the fruit of our labors. Want to review the past 18 months before we move on? Now, we are ready to shift into a whole new energy! We will be navigating by fire and by air in the signs of Aries and Libra respectively. So what does this mean for you:
The North Node will be in Aries, South Node in Libra, from July 16th 2023 to January 12th, 2025
With the North Node in Aries, we are working on the following lessons/themes:
Cultivating independence, and an uncompromising sense of self
Learning to face conflict directly, speak your truth, assert your needs
Deepening your relationship to your physical body, become stronger, more active, develop healthy competitiveness in sports and in life
Self-reliance, develop a survival mindset, take responsibility for your own needs
Take more risks, don't wait for permission, choose action, face your fears, be bold and courageous
With the South Node in Libra, we are working on the following lessons/themes:
Be wary of being "nice" as a form of subtle manipulation, in order to be liked, accepted, get what you want, or out of fear of eliciting a negative reaction
Don't resort to passive aggressiveness or other ways of avoiding conflict. This only results in conflict later through compounded resentment and/or emotional outbursts
Be aware of when you overgive or overcommit. Learn to restrain your energy, be willing to say "no", practice discernment, honor your boundaries
Be mindful of overindulging in vanity and pursuits of pleasure that are empty, cause imbalance in your life, or are used as a means of escape or harmful self-soothing
Collectively, we are developing courage. We are learning to challenge our comfort zone and face our fears. The strength in Aries lies in the inherent desire to survive---and thrive---in the world by living each moment to the fullest, and with passion. With Libra, we seek balance and harmony in relationships, but because Aries is in the driver's seat, we must remember not to become martyrs to the people in our lives, and forget our needs and inherent value.
For the next 18 months, keep the following in mind to help you navigate your cosmic lessons:
No person, relationship or situation is worth abandoning yourself or your values over. You can't get that time back, and you may regret it later.
What goes unspoken will boil up eventually, and it will be worse then. Best speak now.
