What Does It Mean to be Pure of Heart?

Leo rules the heart. Leo's live with a sense of purpose and passion, and seeks to lift others up. Now that we're in Leo Season, and we still have Venus Retrograde until September 3rd, I thought it meaningful to explore the value of pureheartedness.

So what does it mean to be pure of heart? Does it mean being perfect? Being kind always? Must we remain innocent, always doing the right thing?

Of course not. We are human beings, after all. We will make mistakes, and will likely need many do-overs.

To be pure of heart means that we strive to be loving and kind to ourselves, and that we extend this loving-kindness outwards. It means that we cultivate pure intentions---and a clear conscience---with everything we say and do, knowing that our words and actions result in the life that we create, and they have ripple effects on the people and the world that surrounds us. 

Pureheartedness also means that we aim to be authentic to who we are, to live with integrity. To be role models for others, to align our words with our actions so that we may be trustworthy. 

Lastly, to be pure of heart is to embody love in the ways we show up in the world, and to live in a way that is true to our heart. Don't ignore the whispers of your heart. This is where your soul guides you.

To be pure of heart is not easy. In fact, it can be extremely difficult. Yet, as the beloved show Ted Lasso has proven, it can change not just one person, but the whole world.
